3 Snow Days...Really?

So what is a mom of three to do when school is cancelled for 3 days?

Sleep in...well that's a given right?

Watch all our old home movies while drinking hot chocolate and eating popcorn with M&M's.
(Oh and I really really really want those adorable 4, 2 and 1 year olds back. They were the funniest little kiddos and so dang cute!)

Bake Super Wicked Awesome and way yummy Halloween sugar cookies.
(I love Cameron's alien face cookie).

Bake pumpkin cupcakes for Ashley's class Fall Festival party....
that of course gets cancelled due to the snow.
So now what to do we do with a bunch of yummy cupcakes....mmmmm?
(The pumpkin cream cheese ones are so good!)

We also shoveled the driveway and sidewalk (4 times), made snow tunnels, watched not-so scary Halloween movies and played a lot of Plants vs Zombies on the computer.

Crazy October Snow Storm

Wow I still can't believe how much snow we got in October.
This kids had 3 snow days!!
This picture was taken at 9:00am on Wednesday 10/28.

This picture was taken at 9:00am on Thursday 10/29.

Thursday morning we had 20"......Friday morning I measured 25"!!!!!!

The front yard on Wednesday morning...our poor pumpkins.

The front yard on Thursday...those two mounds on the bottom are our pumpkins.

Little Lily LOVES the snow...she's so funny.

It's Halloween Week

See at our house Halloween isn't just a single day and a little trick-or-treating
...it's a month long celebration.

Ashley went to a friends birthday costume party on Saturday night. She was thrilled to tryout her Dorothy costume. I think she was a picture perfect Dorothy straight from OZ with her bright blue hair bows and basket complete with Toto...right down to her sparkling 'ruby' slippers.
On Sunday night Courtney and Andra joined us for a little pumpkin carving.

I know I've said it before but John is by far the best pumpkin cleaner around!

Ashley was just enjoying the night and going with this flow.
She did almost all of her pumpkin by herself.
Cameron was REALLY getting into it...look at the intensity.
Andra carving her cute little white pumpkin.
The look on Zach's face cracks me up.
The proud carvers and their works of Halloween art!
They turned out really cool...but it was John who said "I think these are the best you guys have ever done" (funny he says that every year).

Andra's Cute Happy Little White Pumpkin

Pre-Halloween Fun

Boy do we love Halloween around here.
The house is bursting with decorations...we LOVE it!

The costume box is always a big hit...those old costumes are responsible for quite a lot of fun at our house.

The kids are always outside playing football in our front yard.
But this is what happens while I'm gone...(thanks Ashley for taking these pictures!)

WICKED!

I'm not sure how but it was even better than I dreamed it would be!!!
I bought the tickets way back in mid-April and have seriously been dreaming about it and counting down the days ever since.
(oh and Dorothy...I totally cried too!)
Ashley and I LOVED it.
The fantastic set, the dragon, the fabulous costumes, the songs...oh the songs and those amazing voices....basically we loved everything from the opening curtain to the finale.
Ashley and I decided to dress up for our night out...did you notice her adorable red sparkling shoes...well so did everyone else. She was a bit embarrassed by all the attention they were getting her.
Before the show we headed to The Corner Office and had a little bite to eat for dinner and also tried two of their signature mini desserts...which are sooo cute and super yummy.

Ashley is just an absolutely wonderful dinner date, great conversation and she had me laughing the whole time!
We were so excited and couldn't wait for the show to start.
Ashley collects monkeys so it was a no brainer when she picked out this hilarious flying monkey t-shirt.
Sorry for the low quality fuzzy cell phone pictures...no cameras allowed.
