Ashley and Cameron Update

Here's what Ashley and Cameron (you know my other 2 kids)
have been up to lately...
Ashley with some of her level 4 EGA teammates modeling their new practice leos.

Ashley has been staying VERY busy with her new passion...Gymnastics.
She is currently a level 4 and is practicing 10 hours a week to get ready for her first competitive season which begins in April. She will have 5-6 weekend meets until the State meet in June.

At her practice on Saturday the girls got to do the entire floor routine for the first time with the music and Ashley did such a great job! She also got her handstand dismount on beam and her round off back handspring without a spotter...it was a BIG weekend.
Cameron #3 point guard, YMCA Basketball...The Sharks.
Following in the footsteps of the great Burridge men before him like...John/daddy, Uncle Phil and Zach...Cameron decided to tryout Basketball.
and just like we thought...he LOVES it and he's pretty dang good at it too!
Even though his team is struggling through a tough season(0-5)...Cameron is actually loving every minute.
He does a great job as a point guard on offensive and enjoys bring the ball up the court and boy this kid can really dribble...his dad is SO proud.

But defense is where he really stands out...he guards his man like a monkey on a banana...often ending the games with a few steals.
He's learned to go up hard for rebounds and does a great job boxing out and getting the ball.

(as you can tell by all my expert ESPN style lingo...I spend a lot of time sitting in the stands at basketball games and practices).
In fact, Cameron loves it so much that he's decided to skip soccer in the Spring, instead he's going to do another season of basketball...hey just like Zach is doing too.

For the first time in 9 years not one of my kids will be playing soccer...feels a little strange but my main question is without all those Saturday soccer games and all my kids now doing indoor sports...
"How will I ever get my summer tan?"

My Teenage Boy

This is actually a long overdue recap of Zach's 13th birthday, 3 weeks ago
but first........
WHO DAT? WHO DAT? WHO DAT?
SAINTS WIN, SAINTS WIN, SAINTS WIN!!!
and as John said...all is finally right with the world. (Zach trying to look tough all decked out in his very worn out Drew Brees jersey and a whole lot of Mardi Gras Bling)
Now on to the birthday...
(Zach's University of Texas cake...let's leave it at that and not bring up the National Championship game...so sad.)

So yes I now have a teenager...can you believe it?
I know this post should be about Zach and all but seriously folks I have a teenager...A TEENAGER...as you can tell I'm still not use to the idea.

Overall I can't complain.
Zach is kind, responsible, honest, excelling in school and just an all around great kid...it's just that now I feel REALLY old, plus at 5' 11" he's so much taller than me which is both funny and kind of sad at the same time.
He's not my little baby any more.
Zach has a great group of friends and from what we heard from all his teachers at conferences he's a very well known kid at his middle school and they all agree it's for all the right reasons and is a positive thing that we should be very proud of and you guessed it...we are!
Trampoline Dodgeball at Jump Street
These boys crack me up! We took a bunch of Zach's friends to Jump Street and boy was is fun watching them play dodgeball...John and I were almost in tears from laughing so hard, it was awesome!
We also had a fun little family party on a Wednesday night...with Trevor.
Nice face Trev!
(Oh and look there's my other two kids who I know I have been neglecting on the blog lately but don't worry they both have their own big events coming up that we're all pretty excited about...stay tuned).
The 13 year journey that has brought us this far has been a great one and we are really looking forward to many more exciting and fun times with this amazing boy of ours.
I love my teenager!
